Our Technique

The Sudanese Home Tote Bag is crafted by hand using the intricate embroidery technique, a traditional art passed down through generations. Each piece is naturally dyed and hand painted with care and precision, resulting in slight, beautiful variations in pattern, stitch alignment, and color—a true testament to its authenticity and the skilled hands behind its creation.

Our Artisans

The Sudanese Home Tote Bag is handcrafted by the talented women artisans of Threads of Hope (TOH) using the embroidery technique, hand paint and natural dye. TOH is a training and production center for underserved women and refugees, specializing in embroidery, ajour, cross-stitch, hand painting, and natural dyeing. Producing around 7,000 handcrafted pieces monthly, TOH provides meaningful work opportunities to approximately 300 women. After completing a two-month training program, women work from the comfort of their homes, enabling them to care for their children while contributing to their families' livelihoods.

Our Care Instructions
