Our Technique

The Maha Cushion is crafted by hand using the intricate embroidery technique, a traditional art passed down through generations. Each piece is handmade with care and precision, resulting in slight, beautiful variations in pattern, stitch alignment, and color—a true testament to its authenticity and the skilled hands behind its creation.

Our Artisans

The Maha Cushion is hand embroidered by the talented women artisans of Threads of Hope (TOH). TOH is a training and production center for underserved women and refugees, specializing in embroidery, ajour, cross-stitch, hand painting, and natural dyeing. Producing around 7,000 handcrafted pieces monthly, TOH provides meaningful work opportunities to approximately 300 women. After completing a two-month training program, women work from the comfort of their homes, enabling them to care for their children while contributing to their families' livelihoods.

Once washed, allow it to dry fully before ironing. For deeper cleaning, the pouch may be professionally dry cleaned. By following these steps, you support the craftsmanship and care that went into creating this unique piece.
